Ray Macartney, Farmer/ Entertainer/ Singer Songwriter, is playing at The Festival of Music on Chanter – Friday 26 March 2021 and is also responsible for organising the talent for this great evening.
Ray has been performing since the late seventies in many & varied bands, covering many different styles of popular music.
There’s unlikely to be a hall or a Club that Ray hasn’t performed in the region. He’s also travelled to the Gold Coast, Tamworth, Melbourne to perform at Clubs, Pubs, Country Music Festivals, Weddings & Functions.
Ray, a farmer by day, began recording in 1992 & has to date recorded eight albums.
His song writing covers many different genre’s. ‘Finding Inspiration’ his most successful album, released in 2017, included four original singles on ‘Country Radio Singles’ with two tracks Fisherman’s Habitat (39) & That’s My Country (40), gaining Top 40 status on ‘Country Songs Top 40’ while receiving radio airplay throughout Australia & Overseas.
2021 sees Ray back in the studio whilst he works on his ninth album, an all original sixteen track album ‘Man of The Land’, due to be released soon.
The NSW State Government has provided funding for a great evening of music via the Festival of Place – Summer Fund. The entertainers will be hanging around between gigs to chat, providing insights on learning an instrument, singing, song writing, recording & promotion.
